Feather / Vane Removal |
|
- The
safe method is to use the Deco Wrap.
- The
Deco Wrap will adhear to the arrow shaft securely,
but when needed the Deco Wrap will come off the arrow
shaft with no damage to the arrow shaft. (with your
fingers it does take a bit to remove)
- On
the Deco wrap you can use regular fletching glue,
any vane tape (double sided), or my favorite is extra
thick super glue using a super glue accelerator with
it.
Attaching Vanes / Feathers
-
Attaching the vanes / feathers make sure the arrow
shaft is clean and free of grease and oils.
- Then
attach your vanes / feathers in your normal manner.
Removing
Vanes / Feathers
-
When
removing your vanes / feathers be extra careful,
if you shave off any carbon fibers on the arrow
shaft the arrow is no good, and we recommend that
you throw it away. (or you can use it as a wind
flag stick :-) )
-
You should use a Dull knife or razor to remove your
vanes / feathers. Keep the blade angle less than 45o
to the arrow shaft.
- The
flatter the blade the better it is. Keeping the pressure
of the blade light against the arrow shaft, remove
the vanes / feathers with a quick smooth stroke, take
off any excess with the same pressure and movement.
- Any
left over glue you can remove with the same movement.
- Solvents
may take too long and you risk the chance of breaking
down the arrow resin.
- Remember
"Keep the Pressure Light and the Blade Flat"
this will help minimize any damage to your arrow shaft.
