Carbon Tech is on the move!

Muncie, Indiana.  “The first phase of our change is accomplished,” stated Rick McKinney, President of Carbon Tech.  On the continuing demand for more product and faster delivery, Carbon Tech took a bold step in moving the distribution operation to Muncie, Indiana.  “I am excited about setting up our operation in a more centrally located area for our dealers and consumers,” stated Rick.  “We plan to increase productivity substantially over the next year in order to keep up with demand without loosing our quality and consistency in performance.” 

One of the biggest reasons to have the distribution setup in Indiana is that now 80% of the dealer market base will be able to receive Carbon Tech shafts within 2 to 3 shipping days rather than 6 as before.  Since Rick is from Muncie, Indiana it was an easy decision to move the operation to his home town.  Pat McKinney, bowhunter, archery champion and older brother of Rick will help manage the new location.

Carbon Tech is known for it’s extremely high precision and accuracy of shafts.  The first company to offer three type of carbon shafts (Super fast – Cheetah, Standard – Whitetail and the heavy and hard hitting Rhino), a special layer on the outside of the shaft to keep splitting and splintering down to a minimum, and emphasized the importance of spine over weight and straightness, Carbon Tech continues to develop better arrow products..

The shafts accept the following components: Beiter 12-1, 12-2 nocks, ACE/Navigator pins for the McKinney nock and Easton’s pin nock. They accept ACE/Navigator points.

We will be offering the shafts only at this time. Most of you already have these components in your tool box.

These shafts are some of the most precise arrow shafts ever made. We do recommend a nocking system that will protect the back end of the nock due to its accuracy. Most archers who have tested these shafts have found that they do hit the back ends a lot from being so consistent.

We recommend Rick’s glue for the points. This 48 hour epoxy gives the shaft better frequency absorption. Just remember to have the glue cure for the "full 48 hours" or you will lose points.

For the pin system, you can use low temperature hot melt. This glue has similar absorption capabilities as Rick’s glue but does not adhere as strongly. We do feel that super glues will not work as well due to the crystallization of the glue after a short period of time. Never use glues with the Beiter nocks. Most glue will attack the plastic and cause the nocks to deform and even break or crack. There are probably some Beiter Outsert nocks that fit, but we have not checked this out for sure.
